Travel & Lodging

Dublin Airport

Dublin, Ireland

We recommend flying into Dublin, as it is closest to Kilkenny. Kilkenny is a little over an hour from Dublin, and we are providing busses to Kilkenny from Dublin on Friday. We are recommending flying into Dublin Thursday, however it is totally up to you!

Getting to Mount Juliet

There are many convenient ways to travel from Dublin to Mount Juliet:

Charter Bus from Dublin

We will be arranging a private charter bus to pick up guests in Dublin on the afternoon of September 11th. The same bus will also return guests to Dublin on Sunday morning. If taking the charter bus, please let us know when RSVPing.

Rental Car

Many guests may choose to extend their trip before or after the wedding. The drive from Dublin to Mount Juliet takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes, almost entirely along major highways. Mike and Jill explored Ireland this way, enjoying every second of being able to drive and explore the country on their own.

Train

Ireland’s rail service, Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail), runs from Dublin Heuston Station to either:

Kilkenny MacDonagh Station (20–25 minutes by taxi)

Thomastown Station (5–10 minutes by taxi)

Tickets are typically around $22, and multiple trains run each day. The train is a great option for guests who want to explore other parts of Ireland before or after the wedding.

Taxi

Taking a taxi, Uber, or Ireland’s rideshare app FreeNow are all easy and convenient ways to Mount Juliet. However, if you plan to use a taxi, we strongly recommend booking your return trip back to Dublin in advance, as it can be difficult to find cabs near the estate. Mount Juliet concierge will be able to assist with this if needed.
